Join us for a foraged feast celebrating one of our most abundant spring resources: the wonderful wild garlic!
We’ll have a guided foraging walk across the nearby hillsides and woodlands of Otley Chevin to see carpets of this beautiful, medicinal and tasty plant, as well as introducing various other delicious spring wild edibles we find along the way. I’ll teach you how to identify wild edibles and medicinals for yourself and how to tell them apart from the nasties.
Then we’ll go back to Otley Chevin B&B, our happily-situated venue overlooking the valley below, to relax with a wild drink, forage ingredients for our supper, explore the beautiful gardens and bluebell woods on site, listen to the babbling stream, and to prep, make and eat our foraged feast, including creating wild pizzas to cook in a wood-fired oven on the terrace, munching on foraged nibbles and enjoy sweet treats we’ve made for you, plus you’ll learn how make homemade butter, goat’s cheese, and how to lacto-ferment some delicious wild garlic leaves and buds to take home!
There’s beautiful B&B accommodation on site, right on the Chevin, so you could have a fantastic day out with a foraged feast evening meal and then stay the night if you want! Belinda is a fabulous cook and gracious host, you’ll be well looked after 🙂 www.otleychevinbandb.co.uk
We’re really looking forward to this event, spring is such a time of abundance and we’re having our foraged celebration in a very special place too!
